Pendulums
The pendulum is one of the earliest forms of divination. It is a device used to receive information from the inner self using some type of material suspended from a chain or a piece of string.just about any material with some weight(copper,brass,silver etc.) will work, but the material that seems to respond the best is quartz crystal.
To start with, pick a crystal that feels right to you; it doesn't need to be perfectly clear. In fact, some people prefer a stone that is milky, has inclusions, small cracks or other refractions. The weight of the crystal can be any size,but the smaller stones tend to swing with more freedom as opposed to the larger ones.
Once you've picked your crystal, glue a silver bell cap on the end of it, opposite the point, and attach a chain, thread or string. Since numerous hands have probably touched the stone, it is advisable to cleanse the pendulum before using it. Do not use salt, as this will damage finish of the bell cap and/or chain. A mild detergent can be used, or smudging with sage and cedar will work.
